Kaluga in the VHL, replacing “Torpedo-Gorky”: The league has approved the team’s roster for the 2026/27 season. The VHL board has also approved the teams participating in the season. There will still be 32 teams in the tournament. I hope that all of them will be able to continue competing until the summer of 2027. The economy is currently not easy. Instead of last year’s champion, “Torpedo-Gorky”, “Kaluga” has been selected to join the league. In Nizhny Novgorod, they decided to abandon a full-fledged farm team, preferring to work with “Dizel”. As for the hockey situation in Kaluga, I knew about it already three and a half years ago, when the local team played in the B group of the ЮХЛ. Since then, things haven’t gotten any better. Last summer, I attended a children’s tournament called Volkodav Cup in this wonderful city. I was impressed by the level of organization and the considerable interest in the event. In general, I definitely welcome the arrival of this new team on the VHL map.
