A car accident has claimed lives: Bionord Pro basketball players were involved in a fatal accident. The Perm basketball team Bionord Pro was involved in a serious accident in Chelyabinsk Oblast.

This morning, a serious car accident occurred on a road in Chelyabinsk Oblast. The team’s van was involved in the accident. According to preliminary reports, the driver drove onto the road where oncoming traffic was present and collided head-on with a vehicle of the type “Gazel”. The driver of the vehicle died on the scene. One of the accompanying players suffered serious injuries and was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, the players themselves suffered only minor injuries and are now safe.

The investigating authorities have promptly initiated criminal proceedings under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Providing services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of citizens’ lives and health”). An investigation is underway to determine the reasons for driving on the road where oncoming traffic was present. The technical condition of the van and the driver’s qualifications are also being investigated.
