In the finals, the team from Yaroslavl defeated “Ak Bars”. During the playoffs, “Lokomotiv” was on the verge of being eliminated after 33 seconds. In the sixth match of the semifinals against “Avangard”, the current champion was trailing 1-3 in the series and 0-2 in the game. But then, Bob Hartley’s team managed to score two goals in just 22 seconds. They won in overtime, and then defeated “Avangard” in the seventh match in Yaroslavl, again coming back from a 0-2 deficit. “Lokomotiv” won both of its Gagarin Cups on the same day, just one year apart – on May 21st.
