APL without fake information: Who really makes it to the elite level?

On social media, there are often “official” lists of the new players who qualify for the Premier League. Let’s look at the facts: out of the three clubs mentioned, only one club has a real name on that list. “Ipswich Town” indeed qualified for the elite level after finishing second in the 2023/24 season. However, “Coventry City” and “Hull City” didn’t make it into the APL. “Coventry City” lost in the playoffs, while “Hull City” ended the regular season in the middle of the table.

The rules of the English Football League are strict. Only the two best clubs from the Championship qualify directly for the APL. The third place is determined through playoffs. Any “announcements” before the final match are either false information or attempts to create hype. The official participants for the next season of the APL are only determined after all the playoff matches have been completed and the EFL reports have been published.

For fans and journalists, the rule remains the same: check the information according to the rules, ignore fake “insider information”, and focus on the schedule. English football doesn’t tolerate rumors—only real results on the field matter.
