22 hours over the water: Scottish bosses flew to the World Cup in a private plane. The Scottish team managed to qualify for the World Cup for the seventh time in 12 years. This historic achievement inspired two managers from the Air United club to take on a truly remarkable feat. Instead of using regular airplane tickets, they decided to travel to America by themselves, using a private single-engine plane. One of their friends, a licensed amateur pilot, chose a heroic route: from Prestwick, through Reykjavik, Greenland, Nunavut, Newfoundland, and finally to Boston. It was a total of 6500 kilometers and 22 hours in the air. They were aware of the risks involved. Before they set off, they put up pictures of life jackets with the words “Cross your fingers so that you don’t need them.” After all, this wasn’t their first time doing this kind of thing. Two years ago, they also flew to Germany for the Euro tournament. The end of the journey was inevitable: landing and enjoying some beer after all the hard work. And what are you willing to do in order to support your favorite team?
