AEK Nikolich is once again trying to get Barynov’s attention. “Loko” has refused, so now they’re try…
AEK Nikolić is once again interested in acquiring Barynov. “Lokomotiv” has rejected the offer, so now the club is focusing on getting Barynov from CSKA.
The Greek club AEK has resumed its interest in midfielder Dmitri Barynov. According to a sports insider, AEK is ready to initiate a full transfer process. However, the negotiation process has shifted. Last summer, the negotiations were conducted directly with Lokomotiv. Now, however, AEK has approached CSKA.
The key player in this deal is AEK’s head coach, Marko Nikolić. This Serbian coach, who previously worked with Barynov in Moscow, is personally interested in adding Barynov to the team. He sees Barynov as a starter for the team. In the summer of 2023, Lokomotiv rejected the offer, keeping Barynov in the team. But now, with the current transfer situation, there are new opportunities for Barynov to move to Greece.
The negotiations are still in the preliminary stage. If the clubs agree on the compensation amount, then the parties will immediately move on to discussing the contract with the player. For Barynov, moving to the Greek Super League could be a step towards stable playing opportunities and regular European competition. For CSKA, it could help to streamline the budget and update the team’s roster before the summer transfer window.
It is expected that the negotiations will reach a final stage in the coming weeks. If the deal goes through, it will be one of the most significant transfers of a Russian midfielder to a European club in recent times.
