“The end of the story”: Hartley acknowledged the superiority of Ak Bars and promised to work hard to improve his team’s performance.
Bob Hartley didn’t try to find excuses after the defeat. According to his coach, his players deserved to be punished for their poor performance on the ice. The game started poorly; in the first period, they were penalized for not following the rules regarding the number of players on the ice. They created their own problems. They tried to get out of that situation, but Ak Bars seemed more confident and played more effectively. Ak Bars definitely deserved to win. “The end of the story,” concluded the coach. He also praised the defense of Kazan’s team: Miller is a world-class hockey player. Together with Lammkin, they probably form the best defense in the KHL. Both players move well, control the puck effectively, and make wise decisions. The fights in the endgame are a natural part of the playoffs. Both teams tried to take control of the game, but by that point, the difference in scores was already too large. Now, the team has one thing left to do: to work hard and try to improve their performance.
