Dani Rojas on the pitch: The “Ted Lasso” star has become a professional footballer.
The 35-year-old Mexican footballer, Cristo Fernández, who gave life to Dani Rojas in the popular series, has officially signed a contract with El Paso Locomotive. The American club plays in the USL Championship. Cristo has taken over the role of his character on screen and is now a forward for the team. His journey to becoming a professional footballer wasn’t easy. He went through a two-month trial period, during which he demonstrated excellent physical fitness and tactical understanding of the game. After that, the team’s management decided to give him a permanent contract.
Cristo’s sporting career began in his childhood. Until the age of fifteen, he trained at the youth academy of Mexican club Tecos. However, a series of injuries forced him to put his football boots away for a while. Twenty years later, Cristo finally returned to the pitch to realize his long-awaited dream. Now, the “Ted Lasso” star has become a professional footballer and is ready for official matches.
