Everest on one’s hands: A Russian climber conquered the summit against all odds.
The Russian climber was the first in history to conquer Everest using only his hands.
In 2015, Rustam Nabiyev lost both of his legs due to the collapse of a barracks in Omsk. In that tragedy, 24 people lost their lives. After his rehabilitation, Nabiyev turned to professional hockey, but later became fascinated by mountains. Before climbing Everest, he had already conquered Elbrus, Aragats and Kilimanjaro.
At an altitude of 8,848 meters, the Russian climber placed a sign that read: “To those who think that life ends after a fall…”
He also said to all his followers: “As long as there’s still life in you, keep fighting! Keep fighting until the end. It’s worth it!”
Amazing mental strength.
