Rublev won three sets and is now waiting for Sinner in the quarterfinals of the Masters in Rome.
Andrey Rublev confidently overcame the hurdle of the 1/8-final stage at the clay courts of the Masters in Rome. He defeated Nikolos Basilašvili with a determined effort. The first set was won by the Georgian tennis player, 3:6. However, the Russian quickly found the right way to pressure his opponent. The second set became very intense, and it ended in a tie-break. In that match, Andrey was more accurate in key moments, winning 7:6 (7:5). In the third set, Rublev took full control of the match, winning it 6:2. The match lasted 2 hours and 13 minutes of intense competition.

In the current ATP rankings, Andrey ranks 14th. He is also the second best-ranked Russian player. He has already won 17 titles in his professional career.

The Rome Masters tournament, with a total prize fund of €8.235 million, will conclude on May 17th.
