Robbery in the US: England’s national team lost their Kane and Belingame’s shoes before the World Cup

England’s national football team faced a serious logistical problem on the day before the start of the World Cup. During the transportation of equipment from the pre-season camp to the training ground in Missouri, the team’s transport vehicle was broken into. The thieves stole the official tournament balls, tactical boards, massage tables, analytical equipment, and, most importantly, the personal shoes of key players. Harry Kane and Jude Belingame’s uniforms were also at risk of being stolen.

Police in Kansas City have confirmed the robbery and are investigating the matter. According to unofficial reports, one of the suspects has been arrested. However, the team’s management is focusing on another priority: quickly replacing the lost equipment. There are only a few days left before the match against Croatia, and the technical staff is working around the clock to ensure that the players have the necessary conditions for training.

Such incidents are rare for national teams at the elite level, but they reveal the vulnerabilities in the logistics chain during large-scale international tournaments. The psychological aspect cannot be ignored either. Professional players often need years to adapt to a specific set of shoes. A sudden replacement may require additional adjustments to their biomechanics. Nevertheless, the coaching staff insists that the disruption in preparation is not a serious issue. It is expected that the missing equipment will be delivered to the training ground within 24–48 hours.

The Football Association of England has yet to make any further comments. It has handed over the investigation to local law enforcement agencies and FIFA’s security coordinators. The three lions have to not only handle tactical challenges on the pitch, but also ensure that their backs are covered during times of stress. Successful handling of this situation will be a test of the team’s organization before the tournament begins.
