Goodbye, MLS: Phil Neville has officially left the position of head coach of the Portland Timbers.
It’s official: Phil Neville has resigned as head coach of the Portland Timbers in the MLS. The club confirmed the termination of the contract through mutual agreement between both parties, due to the team’s inconsistent performance. The former defender for Manchester United and the England national team had been leading the Timbers since 2021, but he failed to bring the team to the playoffs in the Western Conference. Now, the Timbers will need to find a new coach to turn the season around and get the team back into the running for a trophy.
