The change of the guard at the gates: Eriyan Njuland has officially broken his contract with Sevilla.
It’s official: Eriyan Njuland has left Sevilla.
The Norwegian goalkeeper, who has been a part of Andalusian club Sevilla since the summer of 2021, has ended his relationship with the club by mutual agreement. Over three seasons in Spain, the 33-year-old goalkeeper played 47 official matches in all competitions. He proved himself to be a reliable player and an important member of the team’s roster, especially during the intense schedule of La Liga and European competitions.
Sevilla’s management officially thanked Njuland for his professionalism, discipline, and contributions to the team’s achievements. In the near future, the club’s sports department will focus on strengthening the goalkeeping position, considering both internal candidates from the academy and options available in the transfer market.
Eriyan still maintains excellent physical condition and is already in preliminary discussions with several European clubs. It is expected that the Norwegian goalkeeper will become the team’s starting goalkeeper, which will be a priority in his next career stage. The transfer window remains open, and analysts predict that the experienced goalkeeper will be quickly assigned to a team in a highly competitive league.
